School Pep Rally!

The cheer team put on their routine in front of the entire school as the pep rally began! It would be followed by some games, then a basketball game at the end.

Friends of the cheer team stood by the bleachers, cheering them on with signs of encouragement!

“Psst, Ivy!” Kailey whispered loudly over the loud cheers and music that filled the gymnasium.

“What is it Kailey?” Ivy asked her friend. She held up a “Go Team” sign with her friend Saige in encouragement of the cheer team.

“Do you think now is a bad time to go to the concession stand and get some pretzels? I’m getting pretty hungry…” Kailey replied.

“Now?” Ivy asked “the pep rally just started, Kailey. Besides, you just had lunch. If you get up now, you’ll have to walk all the way to the other side of the gym. You might disrupt the cheerleaders if you’re not careful.”

“Eh, it’ll be fine. I want pretzels. I’m just going to go get them.” Kailey replied simply.

As Kailey made her way to the other end of the gymnasium, the crowd continued to roar with enthusiasm.

Finally at the concession stand, the girl behind the counter was surprised to see Kailey. Snacks were normally sold about halfway through the pep rally, not usually in the beginning. “Hi there. What can I get you?” She said.

Lo and behold, there they were, pretzels! Kailey gasped with excitement as soon as she saw them.

“Pretzels!” Kailey quickly picked up one of the last two bags. She was very relieved that there was still some left.

As Kailey held the bag of pretzels in the air with the utmost happiness, similar to a Lion King moment, the girl behind the counter looked at her with a confused expression. “Uh- can I get you anything else with those?” She asked. “Oh no, just these.” Kailey replied without even looking back at her. She was too excited.

She then made her way back across the gym, and to her spot next to Ivy on the bleachers. “You got your pretzel I see.” Ivy said, looking over at her.

“Yes I did.” Kailey replied proudly. “Well, you missed a portion of the cheer routine. The girls did a pyramid.” Ivy said.

But Kailey didn’t mind, she was just happy she got her favorite snack!

Happy first day of Spring!!
